About me

Hi! My name is Asia McGill. I am a student journalist currently earning my master's degree in journalism and digital storytelling at American University. Prior to this, I received my bachelor's degree in journalism from Rider University. During my time in undergrad, I wrote for my school's paper in the features section but also covered hard news for class assignments. In the last semester of my senior year, I interned as a social media editor for the Rider News, where I managed all of the social media accounts and made content.

As a multimedia journalist, I have acquired skills well beyond writing. Graphic design, HTML coding, podcasting, and broadcast news were some of the few ways I was able to expand my knowledge within the field. Besides my academic life, I am a New Jersey native, and currently reside outside of the District of Columbia for graduate school.
